 About Fancha

Fancha was born on 22nd of April 2022 in the Czech Republic at the Modrý Květ kennel of breeder Mr. Pospíšil. She is a beautiful and strongly built Chinese Crested Dog female with full dentition and complete health testing.

Despite being the smallest member of our household, Fancha has naturally established herself as the unquestionable leader of our entire Portuguese Water Dog pack. In fact, I am fairly certain that she genuinely believes she is a Portuguese Water Dog herself. The rest of the dogs seem perfectly willing to agree with her.

Outdoors, Fancha can be unbelievably fast when she chooses to be, and once she starts running, nobody catches her. At home, however, she transforms into the ultimate cuddle companion, happiest when completely wrapped in blankets and sleeping as close to her humans as possible.

With strangers, Fancha is initially reserved and cautious, preferring to observe quietly before making up her mind. Usually within five minutes she decides everyone is acceptable and becomes friendly and affectionate.

One thing she has never truly accepted is water — warm or cold. Unlike our Portuguese Water Dogs, Fancha sees absolutely no reason why any sensible creature would voluntarily swim.

She tolerates grooming very well today, though only thanks to consistent training from puppyhood. Given the choice, she would still happily avoid the grooming salon entirely. Fortunately, years of practice have convinced her to cooperate with dignity.

In the show ring, Fancha has always been appreciated for her balanced construction and particularly for her beautiful, flowing movement. She carries herself with elegance and confidence while remaining feminine and athletic.

At home she is an excellent eater, which secretly makes me very happy, as Chinese Cresteds are often known for being selective with food. Her temperament is stable and balanced, though she does prefer routine and likes time to adjust to changes around her.

Her one true weakness is her determination to protect our home. According to Fancha, every single person walking past the house is clearly suspicious and possibly a criminal, and she takes her security duties extremely seriously!

Above all, Fancha is a deeply loved and valued member of our family and pack. She brings personality, humour, confidence, and warmth into our everyday life, and we could not imagine our home without her.
