My name is Katerina, origi
nally from the Czech Republic, and dogs have been at the centre of my life for more than 20 years.
Calladano Kennels is a small, licensed breeding programme based in Wigan, dedicated to Portuguese Water Dogs and Chinese Crested Dogs. My focus is on breeding healthy, well-balanced dogs with excellent temperaments, true to their breed type and suited to both loving family homes and, where appropriate, the show ring.
As a veterinary nurse with experience in dog showing, grooming, training, and canine behaviour, I place a strong emphasis on health, welfare, early development, and lifelong support for every puppy bred here. All puppies are raised inside our home as part of everyday family life, receiving careful socialisation, individual attention, and the very best possible start.
I believe responsible breeding is about far more than producing puppies โ it is about preserving breeds, supporting owners, and creating lifelong partnerships between dogs and their families. Maintaining long-term relationships with our puppy owners is incredibly important to me, and I provide ongoing lifelong support in all aspects of living with and raising your dog, including nutrition, training, behaviour, health, development, and general guidance throughout every stage of life.

Update:
Unfortunately, an ultrasound performed in late May, around the middle of Fanchaโs expected pregnancy confirmed that she had not conceived following her spring 2026 mating. We were naturally very disappointed, but we are planning to try again in autumn 2026 and hope for better news next time. โค๏ธ
๐พ Planned First Litter Of Chinese Crested Dogs - Summer 2026
We are delighted to announce our first planned litter of Chinese Crested Dog at Calladano Kennel. โจ
The dam of this litter is our beautiful Fancha Filla Modry Kvet, and the sire is the outstanding male Nando Pufflepaws Peruvian Party JW. Both parents are fully health tested and carefully selected for their excellent temperament, health, and breed type.
Mating took place on 27th and 29th of April 2026, and we are now hoping for puppies to arrive around 29 June 2026. ๐พ
We are currently accepting enquiries from serious and committed homes who are interested in welcoming a puppy from this litter. As always, our priority is to place each puppy into the most suitable home, ensuring the best possible match for both puppy and family. ๐ค

A fantastic day at Crufts 2026 for Team Calladano, with all three of our dogs delivering excellent performances in strong competition.
Our results:

This year was also a very special milestone for me as a breeder, seeing puppies from our first two litters representing Calladano Kennel at Crufts for the first time. It was a proud and emotional moment to watch them in the ring.
I am very grateful to the owners of Bruno and Lina, Vicky and Richie Thompson, for the care, dedication, and commitment they give to our dogs, and for presenting them so beautifully at shows.
Crufts 2026 was another wonderful day spent with friends, fellow breeders, and owners, all united by a shared passion for this amazing breed.

At Calladano Kennel, lifelong responsibility for every puppy we breed is at the very heart of what we do.
Today we would like to share an important update about Bailey, Calladano Bismillah Bay, a young female from our second litter, who has returned to us at seven months of age due to a severe allergy in her original family. Despite every effort to manage the situation, it sadly became impossible for her to remain in her previous home. With great sadness, her family made the difficult but very responsible decision to return her to us, and as her breeder I have taken full responsibility for her care and future. ๐ค
Bailey is a happy, friendly and typical Portuguese Water Dog โ full of life, confidence and joy. She is well socialised, used to young children, gets along well with other dogs, and has a very open and affectionate nature. She is healthy, fully vaccinated, and currently continuing her basic training with a professional trainer to support her development.
Our priority is to find Bailey a stable, loving and permanent home where she will be a true family member. Ongoing contact and a lifetime breeder relationship are always part of our commitment to every puppy we place.
Update 22.3.2026: We are very pleased to share that Bailey has now found her wonderful forever family. ๐ก๐
Manchester General Championship Show โ Stafford | 17th of January 2026
A lovely day for the Calladano team at the Manchester General Championship Show.
Our young dogs once again represented us beautifully in the ring, with consistent and promising results across all classes:
- Calladano Balou Belle โLinaโ โ 2nd place, Puppy Class
- Calladano Amadeus Andante โBrunoโ โ 2nd place, Junior Class
- Viva Merlot Tempus Ad Miraculum โOrinโ โ 1st place, Limit Class
Beyond the results, it was a day full of valuable experience, socialisation, and time well spent in great company. We are especially proud of how confidently Lina and Bruno are developing in the ring, gaining experience and learning every time they step in.
A special thank you to Vicky and Richie Thompson for their dedication with Bruno and for presenting him so beautifully.
Another enjoyable and successful day for the Calladano team, with promising young dogs and continued progress across the board.
๐พ Our Second Litter Has Arrived โ 2nd of July 2025
We are delighted to announce that our beautiful Karima OldeEly Leal Cascata safely gave birth yesterday to 12 healthy puppies. ๐๐พ
We have 6 girls ๐ and 6 boys ๐, all in black or black with white markings ๐ค๐ค. The litter consists of 6 wavy coat puppies and 6 curly coat puppies.
Mum and babies are all doing wonderfully, and Karima is proving once again to be an amazing and devoted mother. ๐ช๐
This is our second planned litter, and the sire of the puppies is our own Orin Viva Merlot Tempus Ad Miraculum. We are very proud of this carefully considered pairing.
All puppies have now found their wonderful new homes. ๐ก๐พ

Scottish Kennel Club Double Championship Show โ Edinburgh, 15th of May 2025
An outstanding day for the Calladano team at the Scottish Kennel Club Double Championship Show in Edinburgh.
Our Orin Viva Merlot Tempus Ad Miraculum achieved a major milestone by winning his first Reserve Challenge Certificate (Res. CC) at the Scottish Kennel Club General Championship Show, and in doing so also gained his stud number. This made history as the first white Portuguese Water Dog in the UK to achieve this title.
We were also incredibly proud to see the first dog bred under our kennel name represent our lines in the ring โ the wonderful Bruno Calladano Amadeus Andante, owned by Vicky and Richie Thompson. Huge congratulations to them, and sincere thanks for the excellent care they give him. Bruno had a fantastic day, winning Best Puppy, Best Special Beginner, and Reserve Best Dog at the All Breed Championship Show, as well as repeating Best Puppy and Best Special Beginner at the General Championship Show.
A truly exceptional and memorable day for the entire Calladano team!
Colne & Nelson District Canine Society โ 3th of May 2025
On 3th of May 2025 we attended the outdoor show organised by the Colne & Nelson District Canine Society, joined by our friend and our โhouse photographerโ Mรญลกa, to whom we are very grateful for the beautiful photos from the day.
It was a very successful show for us. Our young dog Orin Viva Merlot Tempus Ad Miraculum achieved 1st place in the Limit class, and our Fancha Filla Modry Kvet truly shone, winning 1st place in the Limit class and going on to take Best of Breed (BOB), which made us incredibly proud.
At the end of the day we also enjoyed a lovely moment with our friend Sarah and her dog Draco, who achieved both BOB and BIS Puppy โ congratulations on a fantastic result!
A wonderful day full of great company, teamwork, and very special results for all involved.

This carefully considered pairing has been planned with a strong focus on health, temperament, and breed type, aiming to produce well-balanced puppies suited for loving family homes and, where appropriate, future show potential.
We are very much looking forward to this next exciting chapter.
Crufts 2025
Crufts 2025 was a very special experience for us at Calladano Kennel, and we are incredibly proud of how beautifully both of our dogs presented themselves in the ring.
Our beloved veteran Jonatan Rarach z Kasรฉtek returned to the green carpet alongside my young son Jacob, where together they achieved an amazing 2nd place in the Working Dog class. As a mother, I was especially proud to watch my son and our retired show dog enjoying such a wonderful moment together.
We were also delighted with the success of our young male Orin โ Viva Merlot Tempus Ad Miraculum, who made his Crufts debut by winning 1st place in the Post Graduate class.

Wigan District Canine Society Open Show 1st of February 2025
We are beyond excited to share that our Orin, Viva Merlot Tempus ad Miraculum, took 1st place in the Post Graduate class and earned AVNSC BOB at the Wigan District Canine Society Open Dogshow on February 1st, 2025!
We are incredibly proud of our fluffy boyโs achievements and are so grateful for his success in the ring. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and cheered us on! We look forward to the next chapter in Orinโs journey.
